FHE Swap Update!

Hope everyone's lessons are coming along. Emily asked if she could join us. If possible please make one more copy (if you can't that is okay too.) Also Judy isn't going to be able to join us due to life circumstances, I personally am going to still make her a lesson and would hope everyone else would too.

Also if you have any leftover copies of your previous lessons please bring them for those that missed them.

FHE Lessons Swap Nov. 12:

  • Camille: Nativity
  • Becky: Plan of Salvation
  • Judy:
  • Christie:
  • Amelia: Tithing
  • Teresa: Gratitude (Were you the one that told me this???)
  • Katie: Feeling the Holy Ghost
  • Emily:
Everyone needs to make 8 copies (which includes one for yourself) and don't forget to include master copies for everyone. Lamination is great if you can!

Photography class Wednesday

Wednesday, Nov. 4 @ 7 p.m. @ Amelia's: Shooting with natural light.

Don't think this is useless now that fall/winter has arrived. Cloudy, overcast and stormy days are THE BEST lighting situations. Learn how to get great photos without fancy lighting gear. We'll also be reviewing aperture, f-stop, ISO and shutter speed - and I have a camera bag-sized quick-guide to hand out. Perfect class for first-timers.

Brickyard Book Bunch

Join us on Nov. 11 (7:30 PM) at Marg's for our discussion led by Christie about the book *Garlic and Sapphires: The Secret Life of a Food Critic in Disguise* It's written by Ruth Reichl (formerly the NYT Food Critic and then editor of Gourmet Magazine). A fast and interesting read. Your mouth will water and you'll laugh out loud at some of her disguises.

Family Fun Foods!

Come join us on Thursday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m. at the Mock Home to learn how to make fun food for a Friday night (i.e. movie night, game night, etc.!). Shannon and I will be demonstrating homemade pizza, chicken wings and dip, and some other fun ideas for family dinner. Of course, I'll include some extra recipes for snacks to eat during the movie or game! Your job is to bring an idea of a fun family activity or game which you can share with everyone else. See you there!

Photo class

LADIES! A whopping one person came to photography class tonight (shout out to Christie!). Instead of rescheduling, I'm thinking I'll just rearrange the class schedule.

The schedule for the rest of the year:

- Wednesday, Nov. 4 @ 7 p.m.: Shooting with natural light.

- Wednesday, Dec. 2 @ 7 p.m.: Photoshop tutorial. Learn how to save or greatly enhance a bad or mediocre picture. Even if you don't have Photoshop, this class will also go over basic photo editing you can do without it.

Refreshments will be served.

Photo class tonight

Come to the photography class tonight, 7 p.m. at Amelia Stowell's. We'll be learning about how to shoot with natural light. I'll also pass out a camera bag-sized quick-guide to your non-auto camera settings.

In November, I've had numerous requests to go over Photoshop - a great idea, as the program can save or greatly enhance a bad or mediocre picture. This class will also go over basic photo editing you can do without Photoshop.
